Extra-virgin olive oil, unlike Canola, has been shown to assist in reducing levels of amyloid plaques in the brain. These plaques have been revealed to be at increased levels in Alzheimer's patients. Due to this fact, scientists wanted to know if canola oil would have the same healthy result on our brains.
A research study was carried out at LKSOM (Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University) using two groups of mice. One group was fed a regular diet plan, while the other group's diet plan was supplemented with roughly 2 Tablespoons of canola oil every day. The outcomes called into question how healthy Canola Oil might in fact be.
