More than a system of writing, ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs represented a code used in all monuments in the land of the Nile. Found in inscriptions, cryptograms and decorative patterns, hieroglyphic signs became symbols for Egypt for other ancient civilizations like the Greeks and Romans. In fact, some were so popular that survived long after the fall of the Pharaohs.
